Issues: Inkjet printer does not print in black ink due to driver conflict [Solved]


  • In the software application, select Print.
  • Choose the printer model version from the list of printers available.
  • Select the option that opens the Printer Properties dialog box.
  • The button varies depending upon the software application and it might be Options, Properties, Printer Setup, Printer, Printer Properties or Preferences.
  • On the properties window, select the Paper\ Quality or Features tab depending on the software.
  • To print using the black ink cartridge only, choose Advanced, select Print in GrayScale and then choose Black Ink Only.
  • Select the Black & White button.
  • To print high quality black & white photos or documents, choose Advanced, select Print in GrayScale and then choose Print in GrayScale or High Quality GrayScale.
  • Select Print in GrayScale and then choose High Quality GrayScale.
  • Select OK and choose Print to begin the print application.
  • Use proper printheads and cartridges.
  • Check for the levels of ink in the cartridge and if it is low, replace the old cartridge with a new one.
  • Ensure that you are using the proper paper for the print application.
  • Check if there are any ink smears at the back of the printout.
  • Clean the printhead by using the swab or lint-free cloth.
  • Align the printheads accordingly.
