Printer is not printing to the paper [Solved]


  • This appears to be an issue with either the condition of paper or faulty cartridges.
  • You can overcome this issue easily by checking whether paper that is compatible with the printer is loaded in the input tray.
  • Ascertain that the paper width guides are adjusted such that they fit the paper. If not, restack the paper properly and place it back inside the input tray by tapping the paper on a flat surface.
  • Turn on the printer by gently pushing the power button.
  • Now, wait until the warmup period commences and detach the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Now open the access door and look for the pick rollers.
  • Locate the large rubber pick rollers and use a moist cloth, soak it in distilled water and push the cloth against the rollers.
  • Using an earbud is preferred.
  • Make sure to push the cloth against the rollers and move them upward by applying a moderate amount of pressure in order to remove dust or dirt build up.
  • Also, look for any dirt deposits on the duplexer and clean the region as well.
  • Inspect the cartridge area for any leaks.
  • Push the cartridge to remove it from the slot.
  • Use a soft cloth to clean the contacts at the bottom and place it back into the slot.
  • Just clean only the copper-colored contacts and do not touch them with your bare hands as this can lead to printer malfunction.
  • Lift the latch that is at the side of the carriage to remove it.
  • Look for the printhead contacts and clean them as well.
  • Do not apply pressure on the printhead while cleaning it as they are very sensitive to damage.
  • Now shut the carriage access door of the device and print an alignment page.
  • Look for any ink smears on the page and resolve it by using suitable options. If none of these solutions work, reset the printer.
