Printer Issue: Not scanning [Solved]

  • Open the scanner lid of the printer and check if there are any scratches on the glass. If so, replace the scanner glass and start printing.
  • Check whether there is an error with the scanning device or the Imaging device. Also, check whether the following error messages are present no computer detected, scan to computer feature unavailable, scan to computer is no longer activated, scan unsuccessful, scanner not found, scanner unreachable, and unable to initialize.
  • Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool on your computer and run the diagnostics to check if the printer setup is done properly.
  • Run the HPPSdr.exe file of your computer and start printing. If there is a connection problem with the device, select Fix Scanning.
  • The tool runs the diagnostics properly and resolves certain simple scanner issues.
  • Open Devices and Printers on your computer and select your printer.
  • Check if a green tick mark is present at the bottom as this confirms that the printer is in a ready state. If not, re-establish the connection between your printer and computer or right click on the device and select Use Printer Offline.
  • Now start scanning.
  • Check whether the scanner lid is damaged and replace it.
  • Also, verify whether the level of ink in the cartridges are appropriate.
  • Service your printer regularly to stay free from scanning issues.
